The science behind what a nap can do for your brain.
Studies of napping have shown improvement in cognitive function, creative thinking and memory performance. A nap of 15 - 20 minutes is the optimum period of time to improve mental operations, performance and alertness. During sleep and certain states of meditation our brains enter the Theta brainwave cycle. It is during this brainwave range that the body and mind's natural self healing processes are activated and optimised.
Napping after lunch never sounded so good!
